India's double specialist Rohan Bopanna and his Canadian partner Gabriela Dabrowski were knocked out of the US Open after being beaten by New Zealand-Chinese pair of Hao-Ching Chan and Michael Venus in the mixed doubles quarter-final on Monday.

The reigning French Open champions lost 6-4, 3-6, 8-10 to their third seeded opponent in an epic encounter that lasted for an hour and four minutes on Court 17 at the Flushing Meadows. Sania Mirza in the women's doubles is the only Indian left in the tournament.

Meanwhile, Sania Mirza and her Chinese partner shall be taking on T. Babos and A. Hlaváčková in the women's doubles quarterfinals. The Indo- Chinese pair had fended off a tough challenge from the Romanian Spanish pair of S. Cîrstea S. Sorribes Tormo to book a place into the last eight of the tournament.
