Android 8 Oreo update for HTC 10, U11 and U Ultra confirmed

Soon after the Google revealed that the upcoming version of Android will be called ‘Android Oreo’, Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC has announced that it will bring its new smartphones with this latest Android update.

Soon after the Google revealed that the upcoming version of Android will be called ‘Android Oreo’, Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC has announced that it will bring its new smartphones with this latest Android update.

HTC via Twitter also mentioned the names of the sets which will run on ‘Android Oreo’ update. “We're excited to bring Android 8.0 to the HTC U11, U Ultra, & 10, beginning with U11 in Q4. Stay tuned for more Oreo details & new products!” HTC tweeted.

From its tweet, it is clear that the smartphone maker will roll out these smartphones in the fourth quarter of the year.

Google unveiled the eighth version of Android named ‘Oreo’ on August 21. The updated software, which has been available for the last few months in developer beta, will be available for smartphones and tablets soon.

The first ones to get Android O will be those using Google devices, like the Nexus 5X or 6P, and the Google Pixel and Pixel XL.

The update supports several new features, including picture-in-picture video, notification dots, more privacy controls and a redesigned set of emojis.

Android Oreo mainly focuses on battery life, speed and security, with greater control of apps. Google uncloaked a statue of the newest dessert-themed update at 14th Street Park in Manhattan on August 21.
