New Delhi:

South Korean electronics giant Samsung is set to launch its new flagship model in its flagship lineup of phones later this year.

As per the company's first quarter financial report, it seems like Samsung will be releasing the Galaxy Note 8 in the second half of 2017.

In January this year, Samsung's mobile chief DJ Koh broke the news for Samsung fans that the company will be releasing the sequel to last year's Galaxy Note 7 despite its infamous debacle that caused a huge amount of damage to the Glaxay brand.

The comapany's press release quotes – “For the mobile business, market competition is expected to intensify in the second half. Against this backdrop, the company will strive to maintain profitability through robust sales of the Galaxy S8 and S8+ and the launch of a new flagship smartphone in the second half. Moreover, Samsung will also look to sustain profitability in the mid- to low-end segment by launching new products and streamlining the lineup.”

This information dismisses all the rumours about Samsung killing the Galaxy Note series of its flagship smartphones.

However, the move can be seen as a well thought strategy by Samsung to battle with Apple's smartphones later in the year and manage a major amount of consumers’ interest and investment towards their products.
