Thousands of people left disappointed after attending the first-ever Pokémon GO fest on Saturday. One of the most popular apps in the world got crashed during the event at Grant Park in Chicago.
Technical issues prevented the users from logging in, the developer of the game said after the fest. However, the developer has promised to pay back the $20 ticket price. In addition, the game users who attended the fest will also get $100 PokéCoins in their Pokémon GO account.
The craze of the fest was so much that the players started lining up outside the venue four hours before the scheduled time. The fest was supposed to start at 10 am (local time) but the players started gathering there from 6 am (local time).

The tickets for the event sold out within 10 minutes. Not only this, people paid bought $450 on eBay to buy the tickets. People from all across the globe went to participate in the event.
"Today at Pokémon GO Fest in Chicago, technical issues created problems for a large number of players attending the event. From everyone at Niantic, we apologize to all of the Trainers who came out to Pokémon GO Fest today. Although we were able to solve many of the technical issues, we were not able to offer every attendee a great experience," website ‘abc7chicago.com’ quoted Niantic, the software company that developed Pokémon, as saying.
