Chinese handset maker Xiaomi on Tuesday launched its Xiaomi Mi Max 2 smartphone in India at Rs 16,999 for the 4GB RAM+64GB storage variant. The new Xiaomi Mi Max 2 comes with pre-loaded offers from Reliance Jio and the telco is offering additional 100 GB data to its buyers.
The newly launched Xiaomi Mi Max 2 will be available offline and online as well on select online stores i.e. Flipkart, Amazone and Paytm from July 27.
Apart from the Launch, the company is also setting up Mi Homes to allow consumers to experience the products before buying them. The first Mi Home was set up in Bengaluru in May.
“We had said we will set up 100 such Mi Homes. The next two will come up within this month in Bengaluru. However, we hope to have one Mi Home each in Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai and Hyderabad within this quarter,” Xiaomi India Head Manu Jain said.
Mi Max 2 is shade thicker and bigger at 174.10 x 88.7 x 7.6 mm compared to its predecessor. Also it weighs more at 211g thanks to the big battery.
Processor on the Mi Max 2 is Qualcomm Snapdragon 625, which is an octa-core one with 14 nm design. 4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage (expandable upto 128GB), 12MP rear and 5MP front cameras and 5,300 mAh battery makes this phone stand good chances among its competitors.
Mi Max 2 has tried to understand the battery issue and gave a comparatively big 5300 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 technology for fast charging and this one has a Type-C USB port.
