Petrol, Diesel prices hit unprecedented levels; government to review taxation policy

Petrol and Diesel prices have reached an unprecedented level on the 10th consecutive day. While petrol price touched a record high of Rs 85.00 per litre in Mumbai, Delhiites now have to pay Rs 77.17 per litre for Petrol. Diesel also climbed to its highest ever level after the 19-day pre-Karnataka poll hiatus in fuel prices hike. Meanwhile, HPCL Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Kumar Surana on Wednesday addressed a press conference in Delhi and urged the Central government to review taxation on petrol and diesel to provide relief to consumers.
