Ban on cattle sale for slaughter ups ante between center, various states

The Central government's decision to ban sale of cattle for slaughter purpose has created quite a storm in the country and various states have upped the ante against it. The environment ministry has notified ban on sale and purchase of cattle from animal markets for slaughter while prohibiting cruel practices on them.
