New Delhi:
A 32 feet-long humpback baby whale weighing about 4 tonnes was found washed ashore on a beach near Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The locals later gathered to save the mammal who was stranded on the beach for almost 24 hours.
The incident took place in Buzios which is around 200 km from Brasilia, the Brazilian capital. Over three hundred people joined hands to help the creature return to the sea safely.
With tremendous efforts people digged a deep ditch around the animal so as to let the water flow in to help it refloat back into the sea. At first the chances of survival seemed dim but then suddenly it sprang to life, wiggled its tail and started to swim.
Few images and videos of the mammoth creature surfaced on Facebook, and were widely shared across social media.
