New Delhi:

Kabul’s Interior Ministry has confirmed that 3 people were killed whereas 16 were wounded in a Cinema Pamir attack. Afghanistan has witnessed many attacks in recent times and even US Defense Secretary James Mattis was target of a rocket attack on Wednesday.

A Taliban spokesperson had taken responsibility of the attack on Twitter while claiming that it was meant to target Mattis’s plane. Nearly five people were killed in the attack after one of the rockets struck a home near the airport.

Earlier, a Flight SG 21 operating from Delhi-Kabul was over Kabul airspace when pilots were informed by Kabul ATC that the airport had been closed for security reasons.

As a result, the flight had to be diverted back to Delhi on direction of Kabul ATC.SpiceJet is however set to arrange a special Delhi-Kabul flight on Friday afternoon.
