French President Emmanuel Macron’s party is all set to win the first round of parliamentary elections, as per projections.

It is expected that La Republique en Marche and ally MoDem will win 390 to 445 seats in the 577-seat National Assembly. Macron’s party scores 32.2-32.9% in first-round parliamentary vote.

Earlier, Macron had been elected as the president of France, by winning 65.1 per cent of the vote to defeat far-right leader Marine Le Pen. 39-year-old centrist is the youngest President of France.
