Myanmar’s military on Thursday said it has found the wreckage of a plane in the Andaman Sea that went missing with more than 120 people on board, including children.“We have found the plane and some dead bodies this morning about 8.25 AM (0725 IST),” a spokesman for the military’s information team said on Thursday.

A Myanmar military plane went missing between the southern city of Myeik and Yangon on Wednesday, according to the office of the army chief and an airport source.

“Communication was lost suddenly at about 1:35 PM (07:05 GMT) when it reached about 20 miles west of Dawei town,” the commander-in-chief’s office said in a statement, adding search and rescue were ongoing.

An airport source, who asked not to be named, said the plane was carrying 105 passengers and 11 crew.
