New Delhi:

A 20-year-old youth from Mohali was shot dead by a group of men at a gas station in the US’ south Sacramento on July 26. He had moved to the US two years ago.

Simranjit Singh was staying with his elder sister and her husband, who had shifted to the country several years ago. Singh went there to study engineering and side-by-side he was working at a gas station as clerk.

He was the son of a retired Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) employee Ranjit Singh Bhangoo. As per reports, Bhangoo has refused to call the incident as hate crime but said that the entire family was shocked to hear about Singh’s tragic death.
