Haryana: 5 killed, 9 injured as speeding cars runs over labourers sleeping on footpath in Hisar
As many as five persons were mowed down by a car late on Tuesday night at Hisar in Haryana. According to initial information, the incident took place around 2 am when the persons, who are daily wage workers, were sleeping on flyover's footpath. The victims are said to be the resident of Bihar, according to a report in the DNA.
The car, with three passengers inside, first hit another vehicle on the bridge. Losing control, it then ran over two labourers sleeping on the pavement and later fell from the bridge, killing all on board. The police have begun the investigation into the matter. The identity of the victims are yet to be ascertained and the accused is yet to be identified.
The accident happened after traffic was allowed along one-way on the bridge causing congestion, as work was going on in the other part, the police officer said.
