New Delhi:

The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has decided to follow a new pattern for both matriculation (Class 10) and intermediate (Class 12) examinations to be held next year, board’s chairperson Anand Kishor said on Monday.

The board will give equal importance to the objective type questions, which means the number of subjective questions will reduce.

The board has decided to conduct exams on the new patterns with more objective type questions in the current session, Kishor said.

“With this pattern, we expect that highest score could cross 90% resulting in good cutoffs in higher studies,” he said.

Now, 50 per cent questions will be multiple choice questions (MCQ) and the rest will include short and long answer questions of 2 and 5 marks, respectively.

This major development came after huge criticism of the board over the last few years. The topper scam in the state drew a lot of attention in the last two years.
