Carrie Underwood to honour Hollywood Walk of Fame award

Country star Carrie Underwood is set to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, said sources.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced on Monday that seven-time Grammy Award-winning singer Carrie Underwood will be honoured on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on September 20, adding the star will be dedicated in the category of ‘Recording’.

The 35-year old singer and the hitmaker of ‘Before He Cheats’ will be given the honour in a ceremony in front of the Capitol Records building in Los Angeles, said the sources.

According to reports, Simon Cowell, who was a judge on “American Idol” when Underwood won the 4th season of the reality competition series, and Underwood’s CMA Awards co-host for the past 11 years, Brad Paisley, will both be on hand as guest speakers at the event.

Since winning ‘American Idol’ in 2005, Underwood has earned many accolades and achievements, including six CMA awards, 18 CMT music awards, 12 American music awards in addition to her seven Grammy titles, said the sources.

Underwood will be the first country artiste to get her name on the famous Hollywood Boulevard along with 2,646 stars since Vince Gill in 2012, it said.

Meanwhile, the country superstar is set to release her latest album ‘Cry Pretty’ on Friday. Underwood also announced that she would be embarking on the ‘Cry Pretty Tour 360’ in May 2019, said the sources.
