NOT Aamir Khan but THIS superstar to play Rakesh Sharma in his biopic ‘Salute’?

New Delhi:

Taking inspirations from real-life incidents has become the latest trend in Bollywood. Several films be it, Neerja, PadMan or Dangal are few examples of how the trend has been lapped up by the tinsel town film-makers.

After the success of PadMan, Bollywood will see two more biopics in the form of ‘83’ and ‘Salute’. While 83 will see Ranveer Singh play the role of Kapil Dev, Salute will depict the journey of astronaut Rakesh Sharma.

For the uninitiated, Rakesh Sharma is the first ever Indian astronaut to go to space.

Grapevines were earlier buzzing with the news Aamir Khan will play the titular role in the upcoming movie Salute. However, the rumours were quashed when a leading daily reported that Mr. Perfectionist backed out of the project due to creative differences.

It seems the makers have finally found their main lead if the recent DNA article is to be believed.

The makers of the film Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur had approached the My Name Is Khan actor for the biopic, as per the DNA report. Earlier King Khan had said at an event that he has signed any new project and is meeting the producers.

The Raees star has given his nod to the much-awaited film as per the report and will start shooting for the same in September this year.  A source told DNA, “SRK wants to start shooting in September and continue for two months before he starts promoting Zero, which releases on Christmas. After that, he will resume Salute’s shoot from January 2019. The film is expected to release next year.”

Interestingly, ad filmmaker-turned-director Mahesh Mathai will helm the biopic.

Considering how much efforts Shah Rukh Khan puts for a role, we are sure he will do a great job in the biopic. We really wish the makers confirm the news of the actor playing Rakesh Sharma as soon as possible.
