Patidar leader Hardik Patel was granted bail on a Rs 5000 bond after he appeared in a local court in Gujarat’s Visnagar on Thursday.
The Visnagar Session Court on Wednesday had issued a non-bailable warrant against Hardik and Lalji Patel for allegedly vandalising BJP legislator Rishikesh Patel’s office during a rally in 2015.
Coincidentally, the warrant was issued by the court on the day when Election Commission announced Gujarat Assembly election schedule.
The court had issued the non-bailable warrant for Hardik's absence on last three dates. The MLA’s office in Visnagar was attacked in 2015 during the Patidar quota agitation.
In another incident, BJP MLA Rishikesh Patel's car was attacked with stones while he was passing through ITI circle in Mehsana’s Visnagar city. Visnagar was very important venue for Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti for agitation to demand reservations for Patel community.
