AAP Dharna Day 4 LIVE: Kejriwal writes to PM Modi, seeks his intervention to end impasse

News Nation Bureau New Delhi Updated on: 14 Jun 2018, 12:59 PM

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and urged him to intervene to end the months-long strike by IAS officers, claiming that Lt Governor Anil Baijal was doing “nothing” to break the impasse.

In his letter to Modi, Kejriwal said that due to the strike of IAS officers, several works like cleaning of drains before the monsoon, setting up of mohalla clinics and measures to curb air pollution in Delhi were stuck.

He said no meeting has taken place between IAS officers and ministers for the past three months to address the issue of air pollution, even as toxic pollutants in the air reached to dangerous levels over the past three days.

Kejriwal's letter to Modi came on the fourth day of his sit-in dharna at L-G Baijal's office, demanding action against IAS officials halting work and approval to doorstep delivery of ration scheme. Apart from Kejriwal, his Deputy Manish Sisodia and two other cabinet colleagues - Satyendar Jain and Gopal Rai - were also camping inside the L-G office.
