Army soldier killed as Pakistan violates ceasefire along Line of Control in J&K’s Rajouri
An Indian Army soldier was killed in heavy Pakistani firing along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district on Thursday. The incident coincides with a grenade attack in Baramulla’s Sopore. Two policemen, including an officer, were injured in the attack. the unidentified terrorists lobbed a grenade at a security forces party at Main Chowk Sopore in the north Kashmir district, the PTI quoted as police official as saying. He said two policemen, including the station house officer of Dangiwacha police station, sustained minor injuries in the explosion. The injured have been hospitalised. Security forces have cordoned off the area and a search has been launched to nab the attackers, the official said.
On February 14, at least 42 CRPF personnel were killed in one of the deadliest terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district when a Jaish suicide bomber rammed a vehicle carrying over 30 kg of explosives into their bus in Pulwama district that also left many critically wounded.
More than 2,500 Central Reserve Police Force personnel, many of them returning from leave to rejoin duty in the Valley, were travelling in the convoy of 78 vehicles when they were ambushed on the Srinagar-Jammu highway at Latoomode in Awantipora in south Kashmir.
