Suspected terrorists fired upon a private vehicle carrying Army  intelligence personnel in Kashmir's Kulgam, leaving two jawans injured on Wednesday, according to sources. The two injured personnel of the Indian Army have been rushed to a hospital. The area has been cordoned off. The attack came hours before the second phase of Lok Sabha election polling in Jammu and Kashmir.

Earlier in the day, one CRPF jawan was injured after terrorists hurled grenade on a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp at Nowdal Tral area of Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district. Terrorists threw an under-barrel grenade launcher bullet towards the 180th Battalion of the CRPF, causing splinter injuries to one of the personnel guarding the camp. The injured trooper was rushed to a nearby hospital and undergoing treatment.

A UBGL is a weapon accessory and is fitted below the barrel of a gun. It fires a grenade at a trajectory and causes splinter and blast casualties. Security forces have launched a search in the area for the terrorists who carried out the attack.

In a deadly terror attack on a CRPF convoy in this area on February 14, 40 troops on board a bus plying on the Jammu-Srinagar highway were killed.
