From July onwards heavy fine of upto Rs. 5,000 will be imposed on all those who sell and buy plastic bags in Goa said CM Manohar Parrikar on Tuesday.
Commenting on the problems created due to plastic bags Parrikar said that citizens responsible for making cities dirty, forget their duties. Govt will start garbage collection work stations along highways.
From July, those who are found buying or selling plastic bags in Goa will be fined, said Parrikar
The state government has taken up an initiative to clear the highways of the garbage piles, but it is noticed that soon after the trash is removed, it resurfaces, he said.
