The Bhartiya Janta Party has conducted a competitive examination on several significant topics like RSS and BJP ideologues, the Yogi Adityanath government, demonetisation and 'Ramjanmabhoomi' on Saturday. The examination has taken place at various centres through out Uttar Pradesh to mark the birth anniversary of party ideologue Deendayal Upadhyaya.
The 90-minute-long examination contains 100 objective questions based on a booklet namely Samanya Gyan Pratiyogita - 2017 amd students just need to tick their answers on OMR sheets. The 70-page booklet which contains details and questions on leaders like Veer Savarkar, Deendayal Upadhyaya, K B Hedgewar, Syama Prasad Mookerjee, Nanaji Deshmukh and others, was previously distributed in schools across Uttar Pradesh to help students register and prepare for the competition.
Samanya Gyan Pratiyogita – 2017 — also includes other important topics like nationalism, Hindutva and major schemes launched by the Centre and state government.

BJP President Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had released the booklet a couple of weeks back.
While around 9 lakh students have appeared in the examination, the organising team, led by BJP state secretary Subhash Yaduvansh has engaged around 2 lakh party workers across the state to conduct the examination. The students of classes IX and X were the only eligible to take part in the same.
"Upcoming generations should know about the great personalities and heroes of history, about whom people were not told so far. Also, it is a fact that RSS is the largest social organisation. All facts in the booklet are correct and questions will be asked from it," Yaduvansh was quoted while talking about the same.

According to the head organiser the results are expected to be announced on September 5, and the top 10 rank holders in every district will be felicitated with a medal and certificate on the birth anniversary of Upadhyay on September 25.
