Gurmehar Took To Twitter And Expressed Her Gratitude To Time Magazine For Including Her Name Alongside Those Who She Had Admired.
Gurmehar Kaur, the ambassador of Postcards for Peace has been inducted into Time Magazine’s list of 10 Next Generation Leaders terming her as a “Free-Speech Warrior".
Gurmehar took to Twitter and expressed her gratitude to Time Magazine for including her name alongside those who she had admired.Â
Gurmehar Kaur shot into fame when a video on Facebook went viral wherein she was seen holding placards on which it was written, “PAKISTAN DID NOT KILL MY DAD, WAR KILLED HIM.â€
This drew attention from various corners of the celebrity circle among which cricketer Virender Sehwag replicated her act by holding a placard which had the message, “I didn't score triple centuries, my bat didâ€.Â
The video that was uploaded on April, 2016 drew controversy and media attention since it featured in February 2017, a time marked by violence of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) at the Delhi University. Â
 MoS Home Kiren Rijiju also reacted to her placard message saying that her statements were influenced by some political forces.Â
