Jharkhand: 3 Maoists killed in encounter with security forces near Gumla
Two AK-47 Guns Were Also Seized From Them.
As many as three Maoists the banned Peoples Liberation Front of India (PLFI) were killed in an encounter with the security forces at Gumla in Jharkhand on Sunday morning. Two AK-47 guns and a .315 rifle were also recovered from them. The encounter took place in the Dumartoli, Kamdara/Rania, Gumla/Khunti boundary area. A team of 209 CoBRA along with the Jharkhand police carried out the encounter which began at 6.20 am.
Additional Director General of Police (Operation) ML Meena told news agency that the three were killed during the encounter with the personnel of CRPFs CoBRA unit and the Gumla district police at Kamdara in the Gumla district, about 94 km from state capital Ranchi.
On January 29 this year, at least five Maoists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Jharkhand. Two AK-47 rifles, a .303 rifle and five pistols were recovered from the Maoists. A team of CRPF's 209 CoBRA battalion and state police had an exchange of fire with Maoists near Jharkhand's Rotkatoli village along the border of Khunti and West Singhbhum districts
