Madhya Pradesh BJP MLA Uma Devi Khatik's son Princedeep Lalchand Khatik on Monday threatened to shoot Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia. In a Facebook post, Khatik said, “Jyotiraditya Scindia, you have Jiwajirao's blood running in your veins, who killed Jhansi ki Rani. If you step in Hatta then I will shoot you. Either you will die or I will."

Reacting to the death threat, Scindia said that it showed the real face of the BJP leadership that only aims to demolish the Congress but he won’t be bogged down.

“The real face of the BJP comes forward with this. The aim of BJP govt, its leadership and CM Chouhan is only to demolish Congress. I would like to tell them that we will never bow down to such threats,” ANI quoted Scindia as saying.

Madhya Pradesh will go to polls in November this year. Ahead of the elections, the ruling BJP and the Opposition Congress are trading allegations against each other.

Earlier on Sunday, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was attacked with slippers and stones during his Jan Ashirwad Yatra Churhat. Chouhan alleged that the attack was carried out by Congress workers on the instructions of Leader of Opposition Ajay Singh.

“Congress is thirsty for my blood. This has never happened before in Madhya Pradesh. There may be differences in opinion but political parties would be concerned with their own work,” he said during a media briefing.

Chouhan, who was attacked in the constituency of Singh, dared him to come out in open and fight.

“Ajay Singh, if you have strength come in open and fight with me. I am physically weak but I won’t be bogged down by your deeds. People of the state are with me,” he added.
