Rewari Gang-Rape Case: Armyman among two prime accused arrested
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Haryana police on Sunday arrested two more accused, including an Indian Army soldier, in the Rewari gangrape case. Last Sunday, the SIT had arrested three people, including one of the main accused Nishu, in connection with the alleged rape of 20-year-old woman in Haryana on September 12.
Besides Nishu, two other people arrested were the owner of the borewell store-room where the crime was committed and a doctor who had been called to check the victim. Further details on the arrest of armyman Pankaj and Manish will be made available soon, said the police. The woman was allegedly abducted and gangraped by three when she was going to her coaching centre in Kanina town of district Mahendragarh on September 12.
She said they gave her water to drink which was laced with a sedative. They then took turns raping her in a room adjoining agricultural fields till she fell unconscious. They later dumped her at a bus stop near the village.
The Haryana police had formed the SIT under Bhasin to investigate the case.
