UP 'Shikshamitra' Recruitment Case: Supreme Court Said Teachers Eligibility Test Is Mandatory For Being A 'Shikshamitra' In Uttar Pradesh

Supreme Court on Tuesday said that Teachers Eligibility Test is mandatory for being a 'Shikshamitra' in Uttar Pradesh. The court also granted two opportunities to aspirants to clear the Teachers Eligibility Test.
In this case 1,72,000 contractual teachers in Uttar Pradesh as assistant teachers will be accomodated. Earlier, the Allahabad High Court had canceled the adjustment of contractual teachers, against which the Uttar Pradesh government and the teachers went to Supreme Court.
So far, 1,32,000 contractual teachers are accommodated at the post of assistant teachers.
