It was not all glamour for one of the most inspirational women fashion designers of all time, Coco Chanel. Born in 1883, she had a tough and rough childhood. At 12, her mother passed away. She was sent to the orphanage where she learnt how to sew from the nuns and she became a household name with her trademark items like the little black dress, the Chanel suit, the quilted bag and her signature perfume No.5. Chanel is remembered for her timeless designs that will never go out of style. Her fashion co concept and emphasis is on comfort far from the conventional clothing women were accustomed to during her time. Her relaxed fashions, bell bottoms, short skirts and casual look all highlighted a different course to that of the corset fashions popular at that time.
