Asian Games 2018, Day 4: Rahi Sarnobat bags 4th gold for India, Wushu players settle for four bronze
Indian athletes on Wednesday continued their golden journey at Asian Games 2018 with Rahi Sarnobat from Pune clinching the fourth gold medal for the country. Day 4 events also witnessed some glory in the arena of wushu as Roshibina Devi, Santosh Kumar, Surya Bhanu and Narender Gerwal added 4 bronze in their kitty.
Earlier on Tuesday, 16-year-old Saurabh Chaudhary, son of a farmer, became the youngest Indian shooter to strike gold in the 10m air pistol event while lawyer-cum-marksman Abhishek Verma (219.3) picked up a bronze to justify his hobby in the same.
Taking celebration to the next level Sanjeev Rajput, an Arjuna Awardee winner from Haryana, clinched a silver in the 50m rifle 3 positions event and continued his efforts of achieving excellence.
Meanwhile, an unexpected maiden bronze trickled in from the sepak takraw made the day 3 event in Jakarta memorable for India. Another medal was secured in wrestling arena with Divya Kakran picking up a bronze in the women’s 68kg category.
At the end of the day 4 event of Asian Games 2018, India secured 15 medals with 4 gold, 3 silver and 8 bronze so far.
