The new Arsenal FC manager Unai Emery wants to sign Nice midfielder Jean-Michael Seri as his first signing for the club, as per reports.
The 46-year-old was earlier officially confirmed as Arsenal’s new boss following his two-year stint at Paris Saint-Germain.
Arsenal’s head of recruitment Sven Mislintat has been marking the transfer targets with Freiburg’s 21-year-old centre-back Caglar Soyuncu and Borussia Dortmund’s Sokratis Papasthathopoulos on top of the list, as per reports.
But, now reports are emerging that Emery wants to sign Seri having already showed interest in the services of the 26-year old midfielder during his time at PSG.
Seri is also on Chelsea’s radar and is available for £35 million, due to a release clause in his contract.
Emery has a gap to fill in the Arsenal’s midfield with Santi Cazorla leaving Arsenal and with the futures of Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey uncertain. And as per sources, Emery wants to tie Ramsey to a long-term deal with the Welsh being central to Emery’s plans with the Gunners.
Seri has impressed the critics and football followers in Nice’s midfield for the past three season and is now seeking a move to a bigger team.
