PV Sindhu Sindhu, Indian Badminton Player, Lost To Japan’s Nozomi Okuhara To Win Silver Medal In World Badminton Championship.

Pusarla Venkata Sindhu, Indian badminton player, lost to Japan’s Nozomi Okuhara to settle with silver in World Badminton Championship at Scotlands's Glasgow. 

Sindhu was favourite for the match as she has beaten Okuhara thrice and has lost with the same number. She has an upper hand in the last two encounters having gotten the better of ther rival at Rio Olympics and Singapore Open 2017.

In the epic match though Sindhu lost the match but it was not a cake-walk for Okuhara. Sindhu in all the three games of the final match gave a tough competition to her oponent. 

Sindhu who entered the international badmintion arena at the age of 17 years has been giving tough competition to her competitors.

Here are the major achievements of PV Sindhu's glittering career

2013 AND 2014 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS - Sindhu won the bronze in the women’s singles at the 2013 and 2014 editions of the World Championships. She thereby became the first Indian to win two medals at the World Championships.

2016 RIO OLYMPICS - She holds the record of being the first Indian to make it to the finals of a badminton event at Olympics. Sindhu lost a hard fought final to Carolina Marin and settled for silver at the Rio Olympics. She thereby became the first ever silver medallist for India in badminton at the Olympics.

ASIAN BADMINTON CHAMPIONSHIPS - Sindhu brought laurels to the nation by winning the bronze at the 2014 Asian Badminton Championships and Asian Games at Incheon. Sindhu also won a bronze for India at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

UBER CUP - Sindhu was an integral part of the Indian women’s badminton team which won bronze in the 2014 and 2016 edition of the Uber Cup.

2016 SOUTH ASIAN GAMES - She played a huge role in Indian women’ badminton team cinching gold at the 2016 South Asia Games at Guwahati

2016 SOUTH ASIAN GAMES - Sindhu made the nation proud after winning silver in the women's singles at the 2016 South Asian Games in Guwahati

2016 CHINA OPEN SUPER SERIES TITLE - Sindhu won her maiden Super series title by winning the 2016 China Open. Sindhu defeated China's Sun Yu to win the women's singles crown.

2017 INDIA OPEN - Sindhu lifted her second Super Series title by winning the India Open in 2017. Sindhu defeated Olympic Champion Carolina Marin in the finals to annex the title.

Asian Junior Championships - Sindhu made a mark in the international badminton arena by winning the gold in the women's singles of the Asian Junior Badminton Championships.
