India’s S Chikkarangappa moved into joint lead despite carding a one-over 72 in the third round of the Asian Tour Qualifying School presented by Sports Authority of Thailand.

The two-time winner of ADT events in India, Chikka, who has the same coach as Indian superstar Anirban Lahiri, shares the lead with American Tom Johnson (71).

They are both at six-under 207. Chikka held on to the top post courtesy his second round of 64, which was preceded by a first round of 67.

Another Indian, Shubhankar Sharma is also in line to make his Asian Tour card as he added 71 to his first two rounds of 68 and 69 and he was five-under 208.  Shubhankar was tied 17th.

Rahul Bajaj, in 61st place at even par 213, Manu Gandas, at tied 78th, Honey Baisoya at three-over in tied 96th and Amardip Malik at four-over in tied 104th place will need to make a sprint in the final round to snatch a card.

The top-40 and ties will earn an Asian Tour card for the 2016 season after the final round.
