New Delhi :
President Pranab Mukherjee today met the children who have been chosen for National Bravery Awards to be conferred on the occasion of the Republic Day.
The children met Mukherjee at the Rashtrapati Bhavan here.
Twenty-five children - three girls and 22 boys - have been selected for the award, including two posthumously, from across the country for their extraordinary acts of bravery.
The National Bravery Award Scheme was initiated by the Indian Council of Child Welfare (ICCW) to give due recognition to children who distinguish themselves by their outstanding deeds of bravery and inspire other children to emulate them.
They will be conferred the awards by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the eve of the Republic Day and will also take part in the parade on Rajpath on January 26.
