How to avoid stress eating?

Stress can be fatal not only to your mental health but it also affects your eating habits. It might lead you to over-eating at times.

"Poor food choices contribute to stress, which, in turn, contributes to a poor diet." At times, people choose food mindlessly or use food solely as a source of pleasure.

Here are a few useful tips to avoid stress eating:

1.Keep healthy foods on hand

If you are addicted to eating , keep healthy options on hand. Other healthier snacks to keep on hand include plain popcorn, frozen yogurt, and baked chips.

2. Get enough sleep

Short sleep duration can lead to increased emotional eating. Try to get enough eight hours of sleep every night.

3.Meditate

Not only it helps keep you healthy but it also controls your food habits by making you more aware of the dangers of junk food.

4.Be kind to yourself

Don't just beat up on yourself simply because eating feels good. Frequent binge eating and stress eating can be a sign of a larger problem or an eating disorder.

5.Exercise

It helps a lot in controlling your food habits. Exercise does wonders for your mood and your energy levels.
