New Delhi:

Some people are born to inspire others and show us that beauty comes in all shapes, colours and sizes. Harnaam Kaur, a 24-year-old girl suffers from polycystic ovary syndrome in which she began growing stubble on her face at the very age of 11.

The hair quickly began to grow on her chest and arms too. According to Miss Kaur, during her early teens she was so ashamed of her beard that she waxed twice a week, and also tried bleaching and shaving.

'If only you could see your own self worth and the gems that you have embedded inside your own beautiful heart.  'You have a heart of gold and you will empower many one day. Don’t you see it? Can’t you see just how amazing and beautiful you are?' she writes.

There were days when she even thought of committing suicide and considered harming herself. She was so self-conscious that she refused to leave her house.

But as she began to embrace her unique beauty now she is able to tell the world that beauty has no definition.

Her inspirational story is a message to the world that she learned to love herself. “I promise you that the world will one day read your story,” she says.

Miss Kaur now works as a body activist helping to improve the self-esteem and confidence of others. She decided to stop cutting her hair soon after she learned to love herself.
