New Delhi:

Art of Living guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, who is news for the controversial three-day event on the flood plains of river Yamuna, said on Tuesday that keeping the river pollution free is their great concern.

The event had raised environmental concerns following which some activists had petitioned the  National Green Tribunal and had asked it to stop the event.

“We’ll leave it as a beautiful bio-diversity park. We want Yamuna to be clean. We will not pollute the environment. Not even a single tree has been cut down, we've only trimmed four trees,” Sri Sri Ravi Shankar said on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the NGT while hearing the case raised several questions that are as follows:

NGT asks UP government counsel: "Have the organisers taken more area? How much money has been spent clear the debris?"

NGT asks UP Govt counsel: "With what authority did you give parking permission?"

Bench observes "quick response teams should have noted it. Why was no cognizance taken when photos came in?"

NGT asks UP government counsel: "The area which you have given, does it come under flood plain?"

Bench observes "You're saying that there were no debris. Obviously, this has come subsequently"

NGT questions DDA: "what was the quick reaction team doing when debris were allegedly brought in by organiser"
