Goa to host Federation Cup National Basketball Championship

The 30th Edition Of The National Basketball Federation Cup Will Start From March 9 At The Sports Authority Of Goa (SAG) Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium, Bambolim.

The 30th edition of the National Basketball Federation Cup will start from March 9 at the Sports Authority of Goa (SAG) Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium, Bambolim.

“The six-day tournament will be played on league cum knock out basis which will feature champion club from the top eight states of the previous year’s Senior National Championship”, Goa Basketball Association secretary Ashley Rosario told reporters here.

Most of the India internationals in both men’s and women’s sections will feature in the Federation Cup and in all 220 basketball players will take part in this tournament.

DD sports will be telecasting live across India the semi-finals, finals and closing ceremony.

Amita Mascarenhas and Suzeth Durate will be Goa’s flag bearer for the opening and closing ceremony.

Men’s teams: ONGC, Dehradun (Uttarakhand), Bhiwani Club (Haryana), Vijaya Bank (Bengaluru, Karnataka), Ludhiana Basketball Academy (Punjab), Indian Overseas Bank (Tamil Nadu), Army Red (Services), Kerala Police (Kerala), Northwestern Railway (Railways) and DBO Goa.

Women’s teams: Chattishgarh, Kerala, Maharashtra, Telegana, Delhi, South East Central Railway, Bilaspur, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and hosts Goa.
