India playing Pakistan in ICC T20 World cup 2016 and that too at Eden Gardens- nothing can be bigger than this. This could be the most high-profile match of the mega event on the Indian Sub-continent.
The Men in Blue, who lost their first game against New Zealand in a turner at Nagpur, will need to beat Pakistan in the high-voltage game to remain alive in the tournament. Pakistan, on the other hand, made a remarkable turnaround in the shortest format by thrashing Bangladesh by 55 runs after a dismal outing in the Asia Cup.
However, India have never lost to Pakistan in World cup, in both 50 overs and T20 format. Both the neighbours met in the first edition of the event and India won both the matches including the finals.
In the third encounter between both the teams met in the Super Eight stage of the 2012 in Sri Lanka. This time, India thrashed the opponents by 8 wickets with Virat Kohli scoring an unbeaten 78.
In the last edition, India beat arch rivals by 7 wickets in Sri Lanka in 2014. India overhauled the target of 131 set by Pakistan with 7 wickets in hand. Kohli steered his team to victory in this Super Ten match as well.
This year both the teams will clash to stamped their supremacy-one to survive in the mega event and the other will break the jinx.
