The Gujarat CM on Monday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discussed host of issues including the drought situation. As Gujarat will go to polls next year, it is likely that the Bharatya Janata Party (BJP) may change the leadership in the state ahead of the Assembly elections, sources said.

A national TV channel reported citing sources that the BJP may replace her ahead of the assembly elections. “The BJP leadership in Delhi is worried about internal problems in the state BJP and may make her the governor,” the report said.

Also, the report said that Nitin Bhai Patel may replace Anandiben as the new Chief Minister of Gujarat. According to speculations, Anandiben may become the Governor on Punjab.

“A report on the measures has been submitted to PM Modi,” the TV channel said citing a former chief minister of the state.
