Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Bhagwant Mann drew flak on Friday for posting a security-breaching live-stream video of Parliament on Facebook. He however, tendered an unconditional apology to Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan, who said that an apology was not enough.
"I did it unknowingly. I didn't know it will become such a big thing," said Mann. "A committee will be formed, an apology is not enough as all party members are upset," said Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, who summoned Mann. Sumitra Mahajan is also talking to several people on what action should be taken against Mann.
Meanwhile, a complaint has reportedly been registered against Mann at Delhi’s Parliament Street Police station. Earlier on Friday, BJP MPs Maheish Giri and Kirit Somaiya had given a notice of privilege against Mann to the Lok Sabha Speaker.
"All Parliament members are agitated, issue won't be resolved by a simple apology. It's a matter of security of the Parliament," Mahajan said.
"Action should be taken, (I) would have taken a prompt decision if it (the filming) had been inside the house," she added.
The video posted by Mann on social media on Thursday showed him going through the security barriers towards the Parliament.
"I apologise unconditionally, also assured that this won't be repeated. Never wanted to put the security of Parliament at threat, apologized in writing," said the AAP MP.
"Thirteen people have laid down their lives for security of Parliament once. I know the matter is serious, I'll see to it," Sumitra Mahajan said. Both the houses of Parliament on Friday witnessed uproar over Mann’s video.
