New Delhi :
The Ayush ministry has invited research proposals on ‘Management of Diabetes through Yoga’.
The proposals have been invited from organisations engaged in research in yogic sciences or practice, including medical, scientific, and research and development institutions besides universities and institutional departments having adequate infrastructure and technical expertise.
The ministry will fund the selected proposals. This comes in the backdrop of Prime Minister NarendraModi calling on people to develop ways to treat diabetes through yoga in his International Yoga Day address in Chandigarh.
“In this one year, you continue to do what you do for yoga but focus on one subject and this is my subject - diabetes and yoga,” Modi had said.
The AYUSH ministry will also issue a detailed standard yoga protocol for prevention and treatment of diabetes soon.
