It's raining rewards on Sindhu after Rio Olympics 2016 feat

New Delhi :

State-owned BPCL on Saturday announced a cash award of Rs 75 lakh and promotion for P V Sindhu, the country's first-ever woman silver medallist in the Olympic Games. Sindhu has been working with Bharat Petroleum Corp Ltd (BPCL) since 2013 and is currently Assistant Manager (Sports) at its Hyderabad office. Announcing a cash award of Rs 75 lakh for her fleet, BPCL CMD S Varadarajan said Sindhu will be promoted to Deputy Manager. 

Here is how Sindhu is lauded with gifts across the country:

Delhi

The Delhi government today announced Rs 2 crore cash reward to Olympics silver medallist P V Sindhu and Rs 1 crore to bronze medallist Sakshi Malik. Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia visited the parents of Sakshi in Haryana’s Rohtak in the morning and announced the award for both Olympians. He also offered promotion for Sakshi’s father, Sukhbir Malik, who works as a bus conductor in Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC).

Telangana 

Telangana government has announced cash reward of Rs 5 crore to Olympic silver medalistin women's badminton singles P V Sindhu. After chairing a state cabinet meeting at Secretariat here, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said it has been decided to provide Rs 5 crore cash reward and 1,000 yards of land to Sindhu. 

Besides KCR also offered the ace shuttler a government job, if she is willing to do. The Chief Minister also announced cash reward of Rs 1 crore to Sindhu's coach P Gopichand and praised his efforts to produce shuttlers who are in the world top-50 like Saina Nehwal, P Kashyap and others.

Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh government also announced a slew of rewards, including a cash award of Rs 3 crore, 1,000 sq yds of house site in the state's new capital Amaravati and also a Group-1 officer postin the state government. to shuttler P V Sindhu who just clinched a silver medal in the Rio Olympics. 

The government would also award Rs 50 lakh to Sindhu's coach Pullela Gopichand for mentoring her says Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

Haryana 

Haryana government has announced cash awards for shuttler P V Sindhu of Rs 50 lakh.

AIFFA

ll India Football Federation President Praful Patel has congratulated ace shuttler PV Sindhu and wrestler Sakshi Malik for winning medals at the Rio Olympics and announced a cash award of Rs 5 lakh for them.

The 21-year-old from Hyderabad crumbled under the relentless pressure created by Spain's Carolina Marin to lose 21-19, 12-21, 15-21 in a pulsating final that lasted for an hour and 23 minutes last night.

Sindhu, the two-time World championship bronze medallist, became the first Indian woman to clinch a Silver in the Olympics and fifth woman player from India to win a medal in the quadrennial games.
