Shuttler PV Sindhu, who made India proud by winning a Silver medal in Rio Olympics 2016, returned home along with her coach Pullela Gopichand to a rousing welcome on Monday. While the nation was celebrating her feat and applauding the efforts of her guru, Telangana's deputy chief minister Mohammad Mahmood Ali had something else to say.

In a remark that caused furore among Twitteratis, Mahmood Ali said that Sindhu will be provided with a 'proper coach'.
"Sindhu is our daughter and she has made us proud. We are planning to give Sindhu proper coaching so that she can fetch gold next time," deputy CM Mahmood Ali said.

People from all corners lambasted Mahmood Ali on Twitter for his controversial remark. Meanwhile, Gopichand's wife PVV Laxmi was quoted as saying by ANI, 'I am really proud of my husband and the work he is doing for the nation".
