New Delhi:
Sports Minister Vijay Goel raised many eyebrows for his purported slip of tongue on Sunday when referred to Sakshi Malik and PV Sindhu as ‘gold medallists’, despite the fact that they won bronze and silver respectively.
Goel later cleared it by calling it a slip of tongue and said that people should not make it an issue. The minister also said that in order to motivate and produce more athletes, the Sports Ministry is coming up with several programmes across the country. These programmes will help the persons who have potential to shine in a particular field, will get help and full support.
