On Wednesday, Shivpal Yadav met elder brother and party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav at the latter's official residence in New Delhi.

After meeting his brother Shivpal said, "Neither I nor Netaji (Mulayam) is angry. We all are happy... There are no differences."

According to sources, Shivpal said in the meeting he gave examples of how as a senior minister in the Akhilesh government, he never publicly opposed the decisions taken by Akhilesh or Mulayam even though he may have expressed difference of opinion to them in private.

While talking to media persons, Shivpal siad, "Netaji has decided to appoint me as the party's state unit chief. My role is to bring back SP to power in next polls 2017."

Shivpal denied rumour of his stepping down from the post. "I will fulfil my responsibility...I will not resign...I am still part of the cabinet," he said.
