Poll: 74% people say 'Doval Doctrine' is working for India; 23% vote against it

India has accused Pakistan of involvement in the terror attack at an Army camp in Uri sector in Jammu and Kshmir on Sunday that killed 18 soldiers and 4 militants. 

In a stern message after the attack, Home Minister Ranath Singh labelled the neighbour country “a terrorist state”

In his tweet, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also assured the nation that those people who are responsible for the Uri attacks will not go unpunished.

The Uri attack was among the deadliest against Indian Army in  the history of Jammu and Kashmir, and it caused anger across the country.

A debate has begun on social media platforms on the application and the relevance of the so-called 'Doval Doctrine' as a counter-offensive tactics against Pakistan. 

On September 20, News Nation posted an article - Who is India's NSA Ajit Doval and what is 'Doval Doctrine' - and asked a poll question from its readers on the matter.

On the poll question - In the wake of Pathankot and Uri terror attacks, do you think the so-called 'Doval Doctrine' is working for India? - 74% respondents voted in favour of the continuation of the 'Doval Doctrine' as a policy to deal with a rogue state like Pakistan. 

23% of those respondents who participated in the poll question said that the 'Doval Doctrine' is not working for India.

3% people responded with 'the option of 'no opinion'.
