Nine days nine offerings: ‘Navatra’ is celebrated by Hindus with great enthusiasm and faith. Some people fasts during the nine days of the festival. Some offer food to Goddess Durga to show their devotion.

The first day of Navratri is dedicated to avatar of the Goddess Durga as ‘Shailputri’ or a girl child and daughter of a mountain. People offer Ghee to the Goddess as food offering.

On the second day, the Goddesses worshipped as ‘Brahmacharini’ and people offer sugar.

The third day is dedicated to the goddess as ‘Chandraghanta’, devotees offer milk or Kheer.

Fourth day is dedicated to Goddess ‘Kushmanda’. Devotees offer ‘Malpua’ as food offering.

The fifth day is dedicated to goddess 'Skandamata'. Devotees offer banana as the food offering to the goddess.

On the sixth day the goddess is worshipped as 'Katyayani' and people offer honey to please the goddess.

On seventh day the goddess is worshiped as 'Kaalratri' and devotees offer jiggery as the food offering.

On eighth day the goddess is worshiped as 'Mahagauri', and people offer coconut as the offering.

Last day of Navratra is celebrated as the Goddess Durga fulfils all the wishes of devotees. The goddess is dedicated as 'Siddhidatri'. Devotees offer ‘Til’ as the food offering.
