Jamshedpur:

Actor-turned-BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha on Wednesday hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Army for the recent surgical strikes in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, but stressed that talks with the neighbouring country should continue uninterrupted.

“I think dialogues must continue uninterrupted to discuss issues and find a solution, as war is not a solution,” Sinha said when asked whether India should maintain diplomatic relations with Pakistan in view of escalating tensions.

War should be the last option, said Sinha, who was in Jamshedpur to launch his biography, ‘Anything but Khamosh’.

“I salute the Prime Minister, Indian Army for the action,” he said, describing Modi’s move as “timely decision and dynamic action”.

He advocated for peace, prosperity, progress and pride for the wellbeing of humanity.

Asked about the stand taken by some Bollywood stars in support of Pakistani artistes following the Uri attack, the former Union Minister said, “Nation first”.

On the possibility of his return to the Union cabinet, he said it was the prerogative of the Prime Minister.
