New Delhi:

US has openly supported India’s “right to self-defence” after the Uri attack as it feels that every country has the right to respond against attacks on its soil.

While criticizing the Uri attack as a “clear case of cross-border terrorism”, the White House cautioned both India and Pakistan against heavy militarisation.

What should be heartening for India is US’s dismissal of Pakistan’s attempt to link peace in Afghanistan with resolution of Kashmir issue.

Moreover, US also claimed that it was making all sorts of efforts to ensure that India became a member of the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG) by the end of this year.
