Rio Olympic medallist Sakshi Malik got engaged to wrestler boyfriend Satyawart Kadian of Rohtak. Satyawart, trains at his father's akhada here, competes in the 97kg freestyle category and had bagged a bronze medal at the 2010 Youth Olympics and silver at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
“It was a private function. Only the families of the to-be bride and groom attended the event and it went very well,” Satyawart’s father Arjuna Awardee Satyavan Pehelwan said.
Kadian 22, is two year younger to Sakshi. He won his first bronze medal at the 2010 Youth Olympics, and later went on to bag several awards for the same sport her fiance represents. The two were said to have fallen in love during wrestling tournaments.
